Vacationing with kids can be fun and frightening all at the same time. We’ve created a DIY PHONE NUMBER BRACELET to help ease some of those frights.
My husband travels for his job, so I’m usually left alone to travel with my three kids 6 and under. We don’t travel often, but when we do, I try to leave nothing to chance. We all wear the same color shirts while at the airport, I drill the older kids (6 years) as to their personal information but find them doing great till I try it at a park when I catch them off guard.
Yes, the twins are 6 years old. It’s understandable they mix up their numbers now and then. But when it comes to their safety, it’s not a variable I’m willing to have. Our last vacation with the kids to Seattle I took a Sharpie and wrote my cell on their hands, and on the babies foot. My inlaws thought I was nuts. As a mom, I really didn’t care. Sometimes being considered nuts means your doing the right thing.
My husband asked why a kidnapper would call me. This isn’t for that situation, I have other methods I’ll share for that later 🙂 This is for when one of my kids takes a left when we walk right and I don’t do my head count right away. Kids often follow a pair of pants or shoes….not always the correct pair. I can’t tell you how many kids at event I’ve had follow me about till they look up at me, in utter horror. That look that says, “Your not my MOM, where’s MY MOM?” Fortunately, I notice when I pick up an extra kiddo and we go right back to where we got our hitchhiker. I’ve even watched my kids do it, waiting to see how it all played out….well in my reach of course.
So how did I make our DIY Phone Number Bracelet? I have photos below and a video showing how we did it:

I personally do better with a video, so I made one! I would love your comments on the video 🙂 Please subscribe!
